Since its opening in 1926, the Tainan Canal has stood as a silent witness to a century of urban transformation and harbor development. For this landmark concert, composer Tai-Chi Chen was commissioned to create the moving symphonic poem The Arteries of the Old Capital.
This work reinterprets a hundred years of the canal’s elegance and evolution, allowing the audience to envision its past, present, and future through music. It is a tribute to the eternal prosperity and collective memory of Tainan.
