On May 20, 2004, the center was ordered to operate under its original name-Tainan Municipal Cultural Center. Because of the merger of Tainan County and Tainan City, the center was renamed as Tainan Municipal Cultural Center on December 25, 2010. It was merged to Cultural Affairs Bureau of Tainan City Government on January 1, 2013 and was renamed as Yonghua Cultural Center Management Division.
